Jewish Law Day 2017

Dear Colleague:

You already have received the invitation to the 35th Annual Jewish Law Day to be held on Thursday, April 6, 2016, at 5:00 PM, at the Jewish Community Services Building, 2100 Arch Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Complimentary valet parking will be available. A complimentary kosher catered reception will follow the program.

This year, our distinguished speaker will be Eugene Kontorovich, Professor of Law at Northwestern. This influential and inspiring scholar will discuss “Examining Modern Questions of Israel, Campus Free Speech and Boycott Movements through the Lens of Jewish Value”. This year, the format will be in the form of an interview with the Honorable Abraham J. Gafni (ret.)

In addition, we will be honoring Judge of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, Rochelle S. Friedman, with the inaugural Judge Norma Shapiro Jewish Law Day Award. Judge Friedman is a highly respected jurist and a long-time supporter of the Jewish Community.

Since its inception, Jewish Law Day has been free of charge and open to the entire community. This program is supported entirely through voluntary contributions. We would very much appreciate your considering a contribution of $180 to assist in the underwriting of this important event. If circumstances prevent you from making a donation in that amount, we would appreciate any contribution that you can comfortably give.

Your tax deductible check should be made payable to "The Brandeis Law Society Foundation" and sent to Jay E. Kivitz, 7901 Ogontz Avenue, Philadelphia, PA  19150. Contributions can also be made on line by credit card at www.brandeislawsociety.org.

On behalf of the Committee we want to thank you in advance for your support of Jewish Law Day and look forward to sharing this day with you.

With warmest personal regards,

Matthew Weinstein, Esq.
